Route 66 – The Mother Road
Get ready for the iconic road trip on the Mother Road. Route 66!
Come with me on my third annual workshop touring the sites along the old Mother Road – Route 66! We won’t be touring from Chicago to LA but we will be touring from Victorville CA. to Holbrook AZ… more than 450 miles!
Last years trip was a total success and I have thoroughly scouted and photographed our route. We will make many iconic photographs of structures that are classic and quaint and others represent desolation and memory. See my 2016 Route 66 photo gallery. 2015 Workshop photos HERE
We will shoot photos from sunrise to sunset and also do some night photography of the road and signage. There will be moonless nights. The route includes driving on the interstate where the old route ceases to exist. This is truly a road trip. We will drive to at least 30 different locations. There will also be a few Route 66 museums and classic cafes we will stop at.
This schedule will be casual and fluid depending on weather, how fast we move as a group and what we find. Many of the structures along the highway are in flux and deteriorating. So its best to see Route 66 now!
