Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5 will be announced July 21st
UPDATED: http://www.dpreview.com/news/1007/10072110panasonicdmclx5.asp
According to numerous blogs the Panasonic LX5 will be announced tomorow. It is the replacement for the wonderful LX3. I usually don't get to excited about little cameras but I've had great results with both the LX2 and LX3. Natually, I am looking forward to the new version.
Here are some comparisons from 1001 Noisy Cameras:
LX5 vs LX3 spec-sheet differences (LX5 mentioned first)
+ Different lens, 24-90mm f2-3.3 vs 24-60mm f2-2.8
+ 10 elements, 9 groups, 3 aspherical lenses on 5 aspherical surfaces vs 8-6-4-4
+ LX5 has slightly different focal range for video recording
+ PowerOIS vs MegaOIS
+ Manual Focus jog-dial vs joystick
+ LX5 adds ISO 12800 (as if, but I digress)
+ 2-axis +/- 9-step vs 10-step WB adjustment
+
LX5 has 1:1 aspect ratio (added to LX3 via firmware update)
+ 2.5fps (5 standard, 3 fine) vs 2.5fps (8/4)
+ CIPA 400 vs 380
+ LX5 adds 1/4000 shutter speed
+ LX5 adds optional EVF
+ LX5 adds SDXC support
+ ID-Security 3.6V/1250mah battery vs 3.7V/1150mah (no ID-Security crap)
+ LX5 gets new software versions, ArcSoft dropped?
+ LX5 HDMI-out, VieraLink
+ three composition line guides vs two
+ built-in memory 40MB vs 50MB
